Port Townsend piers

Among other things, Port Townsend has a lot of public piers. There is a second crabbing season on right now, so Sparks brings a pot along and drops it while we do whatever else we came there to do. It’s absolutely beautiful scenery around there–clear views of the Olympics and Mount Baker. Recently whales have been hanging around there, though we didn’t spot any.

Unfortunately, these piers are very much over-crabbed. We always pull up a mess of red rock crabs and female Dungeness. Haven’t gotten a large-enough male Dungeness yet.

  1. Very envious of your lifestyle over there, and, of course, your weather. Although it’s been in the 60’s most of this week with the forecast heading for 70 today. However, this all will end, snow promised for the weekend. Oh well, it was too good to last. Take care, and enjoy the views, the sunshine and the lifestyle.
