Little woodland jumpers

I am finally finding some time to spend in my craft room again, hooray. Not only am I consciously making an effort to get in there, but Mimi is finally at an age where I feel she’s sensible enough to play in the adjoining media room, and even totter into the craft room for a visit, without endangering herself or the house. Now, playing happily while I concentrate on something else, that’s a different story. And we’re working on it.

My go-to words this season are “Into The Woods”. Woods, woodland animals, trees, fairy tales, and little girls… with a Scandinavian twist when I feel like it. Anyway, here are three little jumpers for Mimi to wear over tights and bodysuits as she trip-trip-trips over the river and through the woods.

The pattern is the Popover Sundress from oliver + s, which is FREE on their website. It’s a simple a-line dress with a doubled yoke and tie straps. Because it doesn’t have a placket, you do have to leave the straps as ties, otherwise you can’t get it on and off.

The pink and brown dresses are made from Timeless Treasures 21-wale corduroy. This cream-colored one is LouLouThi velveteen by Anna Maria Horner, of course. But you knew that.

Each one was made up in under an hour, even with my little visitor handing me dollies and horsies and sorting through the bags of new Christmas ornaments on the floor. Unfortunately, said visitor has a feverish cold, so she isn’t available to model the jumpers… yet.

  1. These are too cute! You can go “over the river and through the woods to Grandmother’s house” any time, you know.
