Garden goodness

Produce is beginning to come thick and fast. Lettuce, peas, radishes, and chard are over… tomatoes and peppers are soon to come.

Eggplant, from two champion plants that have about eight fruits apiece currently. These we picked at 8″, too worried that deer or rabbits would get them to wait longer. I pan-fried them and sprinkled on parmesan cheese. They were creamy and delicious.

Garden peas. We grew “Wando”, “Little Marvel”, and “Alaska”. Some pods were sweet, some were bitter, and we don’t know why.

And rhubarb. Oh, rhubarb!

  1. What are your plans for the rhubarb? A neighbour gave me some and I froze it right away becuase I wasn’t ready for it. I always love hearing about what other people do with their rhubarb.
