It’s been a cool, damp summer and nobody’s gardens are ripening as fast as usual. We’ve had a few days of intense heat lately, though, and things are starting to be ready.
My hot pepper plants have been going bonkers for a long time–good thing Sparks has gotten interested in cheese making, and wants to do lots of curries with homemade paneer and hot peppers (his curries are showstopping, btw). The tomatoes are starting to ripen, too. Do you know what that means? You should.
Just look at that juicy jem. It’s a variety I grew last year and quite liked, Sweet Tangerine. The tomatoes are profuse, early, medium-sized, and taste great. Do you know what’s going to happen to this little tomato? C’mon. You know you know.
Oh. Yeah. It’s BLT season, baby.
