We had a dusting of snow before Christmas, but yesterday’s (soggy) inch and a half was the first real snowcover of the winter. I took Mimi out to play in snow for the first time. She wasn’t at all sure about it at first–stood still on the front step, then had to hold my hand as she ventured out into it, but soon she was running laps around the patio and even venturing into the grass, where the snow went over the tops of her shoes and I remembered that we have snow pants for her but not winter boots (but oh, what is a romp in the snow if it doesn’t come over the tops of your shoes and get your socks wet?) We made footprints and threw some snowballs, then went inside for hot chocolate.
