I am happy to report that, after a couple of weeks on the bench, my crochet hand is back in fighting form.
I am working on another afghan, this one smaller, maybe lap size. There will be eight squares each of eight different colorways, each one the same color in three different shades. I am thinking about putting a narrow white border on each square, just for interest… what do you think? I think so.
One thing’s for sure, I just loooooooove this pattern. It’s so plump and sculptural and lovely. Instructions for making this popular pattern are surprisingly hard to find on the web… so I’ll add just one more “click HERE to see the pattern” google hit for it. All of them, I believe, lead here. My personal recommendation is to not do so many rows of regular granny around the pattern. I mean, it’s all about the sunburst, right?
In other news, my mother has begun a blog! She’s writing about things she finds on her nature walks, way up north (where the leaves are already changing! Eeeek!), and things she cooks. She has even blogged the Goat Cheese Mind Trick pizza. Do visit her.
