The guest room, in winter

My guest room is red and green (and a little blue), so in the summer it makes me think of strawberries and cherries and tomatoes… but in the winter, it must of course become a Christmas room. This year, my parents are spending Christmas at my house for the first time. The food and entertainment I have still to arrange, but I think that they’re all set for cozy long winter naps.

My mother particularly likes the quilt because she is perpetually amazed by her own quilting prowess (I pieced the top, though. Do I get some credit?) I have laid down a thick down comforter beneath it, because this room gets cooooold at night.

This room’s color scheme gave me an excuse to begin indulging my affection for glass mushrooms. What is it about these that I like so much? It’s hard to quantify. I just do!

Yes, that’s my reflection in the last one. Say hello to my reflection! Hello, reflection!
